VIRGINIA AZAGRA'S BIOGRAPHY
Virginia Azagra Rueda was born in Madrid in 1974 and awarded the highest grade in her Physiotherapy degree at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 1995. Since 1995 she has worked as a physiotherapist in several private and public institutions and currently combines this with teaching at the Ernest Lluch de Móstoles Hospital (Madrid) and research, in conjunction with the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and the Universidad Europea de Madrid. Her qualifications cover a range of postgraduate courses from various Spanish universities including Medicine in the Arts at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona in which she specialised in preventing and treating musicians’ injuries. As a teacher she has given conferences, courses, talks, physiotherapy workshops for musicians – including the highly popular ‘Cantabria Guitar Course’ – and has taken part in seminars and congresses on both music and healthcare. She is an associate lecturer at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.
