Joan Antoni Martinez
Born in Manresa in 1962, he began his guitar studies at the Conservatory of Music in his hometown in 1984 with Professor Montserrat Masramón. He continued his studies in guitar at the Superior Conservatory of Barcelona with Professor Jordi Codina. 

Interested especially by the new composers and the new guitar compositions, he discovers the work of Barcelona composer and guitarist Gloria Villanueva.

Fruit of this interest is the recording of three CDs: The first "30 Studies for guitar" -2001-. The second one: "Guitar Constellation" -2013-. And the third "Flashback -2016-. The latter in collaboration with the Sofia Film Orchestra of Bulgaria. All edited by the label "La mà de guido" / "Ars harmonica" of Sabadell (Barcelona). 

In the pedagogical field he has published an original repertoire book "L'ocell feliç" Ed. Boileau (Barcelona), designed for children who are beginning to learn the guitar. He has been a professor at the Conservatory of Barcelona, ​​the Conservatory of Manresa, the Municipal Schools of Berga, Súria and, currently, the Municipal School of Music of Sant Joan de Vilatorrada. 

He has collaborated with the Orquesta Sinfónica del Vallés and with Los Amigos de la Ópera de Sabadell in the representation of El barbero de Sevilla and Don Giovanni. He has attended master classes with José Tomás, Armando Morrosu, David Russell, Leo Brouwer, Oscar Gighlia, José Luis Rodrigo Bravo and José Luis Lopategui.
 
 

 

Gloria Villanueva
GLORIA VILLANUEVA    

With an Advanced Degree in Music in classical guitar specialization from the Liceu  Conservatory of Barcelona, and a Degree in Psychology from the University of Barcelona, Gloria Villanueva has composed a great number of works for guitar, piano, different chamber ensembles and orchestra. These works have been published by La Mà de Guido, Doberman-Yppan and Trinity College Editions. Some of them have been recorded by companies like La Mà de Guido, Digimusic & Records, and Ars Harmonica.

Recently she has been a finalist in the Filmusic Soundtracks Contest 2016 for the Classical Music category and has been nominated for the Jerry Goldsmith 2017 prize for the category of free original compositions.

Among the intepreters of her works there are Jordi Codina, Jacob Cordover, Ayako Fujiki, José Galeote, Bruno Ispiola, Rafa Madagascar, Liliana Maffiotte, Joan A. Martínez, Gloria Medone, Mª del Mar Poyatos, Carlota Ruiz, Annalisa Sassano, Fabio Scinazi, Antón Serra, Julia Trintschuck, Esther Vela and Jan Wouters, as well as the following orchestras: the Empordà Chamber Orchestra, the Buenos Aires Young Chamber Orchestra, the Cerdanyola Young Chamber Orchestra, the Catalonia’s Philarmonica and the Sofia Film Orchestra.
