Guitar Santos Hernandez - year 1930
A historical gem, a guitar from a mythical luthier that is part of the golden history of the Spanish guitar.
This guitar belonged to a gifted student of Regino Sainz de la Maza, with whom he maintained a great friendship. Regino Saiz de la Maza gave the student this guitar from his private collection shortly before he left for Berlin to continue his studies with Paul Hindemit.
This guitar would accompany him all his life, but unfortunately his guitar studies were cut short while he was studying in Germany due to the 2nd world war. At the end of the war the student returned to Spain, and with him his guitar, but Spain was also going through great social and economic problems at that time, and he could never finish his music career.
But the guitar accompanied him throughout his life, offering him the good memories of his teacher and friend Regino, and the dreams of a time he never forgot.
The guitar is in perfect condition of use, with obvious traces of the passage of time and use.
The guitar needed light minor arrangements that were made by a Master Luthier in Madrid. The original headstock which was faulty was replaced and a slight and superficial crack fixed. In addition, cleaning and fine shellac refreshing was carried out, maintaining all its original parts, including even the bridge and nut bones.
The sound of this guitar is shocking, sweet, exciting, full of sensitivity and sensuality. It is a guitar with soul, with history, with feeling.
In short, a historical guitar with history, a unique guitar.
