The Latin word "anima" is defined as the spiritual and immortal essence of human beings. The soul is what gives life its sensory and intellectual form, endowing our existence with meaning beyond mere physical manifestation. This entity, which dwells within each of us, finds its natural means of expression through the voice. We all express ourselves aloud. We all speak. We all sing.
Voce dell’anima is a tribute to the human voice, through two of its most authentic expressions: Italian opera and German lied. It is no coincidence that both genres have been prominent in the guitar repertoire throughout history. The guitar, like all musical instruments, has sought to imitate the voice, and has turned its attention to genres in which the voice takes center stage.
