Thomas Holt was born in 1977 in Aarhus, Denmark. Still in his country of origin, he began his woodwork studies, which he subsequently brought to Spain, where he would start his guitar building education. Taught by the great master luthier Rolf Eichinger, he learned the trade: artisan techniques and methods from ancient traditions, increasingly more exclusive and reserved to a small select group of artisans.
To his development and progress as a guitar maker also contributed the great Antonio Marín and his luthier friend John Ray. His current work causes admiration due to the great care applied to details and finishings, and especially for the timbre quality of his classical guitars, all of them born out of his expert hands.
Starting off with a careful selection of the finest woods -which I have witnessed myself-, his work method thoroughly follows the ancient guitar-making tradition, using wedges, canes and strings, and hot adhesive for joints, always ensuring that the wood -carefully dried for years- is never affected in any way.
All guitar parts are handcrafted at the workshop, making sure to control the relative humidity of air during the entire process for an even better final result. The aim is to obtain the best guitar, both in terms of sound and comfort.
