Javier Ares Yebra makes musical studies at the Conservatories of Music in Córdoba and A Coruña, where ends the specialty in Classical Guitar with professor Ramón Carnota, obtaining Bachelor Extraordinary  Award. He graduated in Communication Studies (URJC, Madrid) and Master in Communication Research (Uvigo), receiving the highest rating with his work on the sources of musical thinking of Igor Stravinsky. Extends musicological studies under the guidance of José López Calo, and through scholarships from several institutions (Barrie de la Maza Foundation, AUIP,  UIMP or Vitae Foundation), completes his academic curriculum with specialized and interdisciplinary courses.

He has worked as a guitarist with orchestras as the Royal Philharmonic of Galicia, doing works of composition and performance in several theatrical and audiovisual creation projects. As a soloist he has performed throughout the Spanish geography, Argentina, Italy and Portugal, receiving critical acclaim. Performs an intense work in the field of musical aesthetics and theory of communication, performing research stays in the departments of Musical Aesthetics and Arts of Buenos Aires and Oporto Universities, and actively participating in professional journals and national and international conferences on music, art and communication. Recently, coordinated the Memorial Carlos López García-Picos, with the collaboration among others of the AGC (Galician Association of Composers), premiering his String Quartet with guitar and the first guitar transcriptions of music by composer. He is currently a PhD student in Communication (Uvigo), prepares some publications, conferences and lectures, combining research with concert activity.
