Teodoro Pérez belongs to the select group of Madrid School's original guitar makers who have given remarkable fame and prestige to Madrid's Spanish artisan guitars. He began his career as a guitar builder at Ramírez's worksop; after 26 years of building some of the best artisan concert guitars, he decided to become independent by setting up his own workshop.
With a 45-year experience in making top-quality artisan guitars, he continues to work with the same enthusiasm as the first day, making what he likes most: exceptional handmade guitars.
He pays careful attention to detail and to the entire building process, starting with his meticulous selection of woods. His guitars have earned a place among the best guitars in the world. This is evidenced in the great success he has attained, especially in countries like the USA and Japan, where his instruments are cherished and sold for very high prices.
His main secret lies in the fine woods he uses; he says that just by looking at a piece of wood he knows exactly what the guitar will sound like. It also lies in a work carried out with great care and, of course, in his unique manufacture, which confers personality and character to all of his instruments.
His children Sergio and Beatriz currently help him at the workshop, with the intention of extending his father's remarkable legacy on to the future.
Teodoro has become, on his own merit, part of the Spanish guitar-making elite; his guitars are great exponents of our country's best artisan tradition, and that is no mean feat.
