Guitar Concert - Ramses Uriarte

 
 
 
Born in 1980 in Cuba. He began his studies at the conservatory Guillermo Tomás and then passed to the conservatory of secondary education in music Amadeo Roldán under the supervision of Roberto Kessel, teacher and head of the guitar department, and graduated in the year 2000. He became part of the teaching staff of primary education in the music conservatory Paulita Concepción, serving as the head of the string department for eight years, and also was the musical director at the ICRT (Cuban Institute of Radio and Television) and played in various bands of modern music at the same time.

He has participated in national, ibero-american and international contests, both in Cuba and in Spain, receiving awards such as third place in the First National Guitar Contest Isaac Nicola, special mention on the First International Contest Amadeo Roldan for guitar at the Second Ibero-american Festival of Music Students, and finalist in the International Contest of Vélez-Malaga in 2011.

He has also been recognized for his pedagogical work as best novel teacher in his province, La Habana, in 2002, by the Provincial Center of Arts Schools.

He finished his degree in 2013 under the direction of Miguel Trápaga and since then has continued his pedagogical and interpretative work.

 
 


 
Yailín Hierrezuelo Martínez (Havana, 1986) completed her studies of flute at the University of Arts of Cuba under the guidance of the teacher Niurka González. Previously she studied with teachers Erasmo Lopez and Vivian Jimenez in Conservatories Alejandro García Caturla and Amadeo Roldán. In 2011 obtained the degree of Master of Musical Creation and Interpretation from the Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid.

She has got several interpretation awards including Second Prize (first prize was not awarded) at the International Flute Competition 2010 of Andalusia; First Prize in the National Competition for Young Performers of Puebla de Almoradiel, Toledo (2010); Second Prize in the National Music Competition UNEAC Camera (Havana, 2008); First Prize in National Competition Musicalia categories and Woodwind Chamber Music (La Habana, 2006 and 2007); First Prize Amadeo Roldán (2005); and a semifinalist in the 2003 Young Musicians Competition (Bucharest, Romania).

She has integrated the World Youth Wind Orchestra Project (Austria), the Youth Orchestra of the Community of Madrid (JORCAM) Chamartín Symphony Orchestra, Santa Cecilia Wind Quintet, the symphonic rock group Magical Beat and Symphony Orchestra Amadeo Roldán.
