RAÚL FUNES
Born in San Rafael Mendoza. He began studying with Professor William Devia and Daniela Canale. Granted by Abel Carlevaro he studied under his leadership in Uruguay.
He is a graduate of the Fac. of Arts U.N. Cuyo with a degree in guitar at the Chair of Professor Cristina Cuitiño.
He won the contest "The Best of Youth Season 1998" organized by the Orchestra of the UN Cuyo. He won the "Presidency of the Nation" Award for the best average scoring of the nation in arts in 1999.
He continued his studies at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg with Professor María Isabel Siewers.
He received the Diplom Magister Konzertfach at the chair of Prof. Eliot Fisk and Master of Pedagogy Guitar with Maestro Stefan Hackl.
He was awarded the "Norba Caesarina" competition in Caceres, Spain
He has performed in several International Guitar Festival in Bratislava, Slovakia, Italy, Austria and Germany.
He is part of the group "Camerata 41" performing concerts of Argentinean works for guitar and orchestra.
Recently with the work "Wahlverwandschaft" Goethe he has performed in German cities such as Berlin, Stuttgart, Cologne, Frankfurt, Hamburg, München and also in Vienna, Austria and Zürich, Switzerland.
He currently works as a guitar professor at the School of Music in Innsbruck, Tirol, Austria.
