Diego Santiago
Born in Santa Clara, Cuba, in 1981, Diego Santiago began his musical training at the age of ten at the Olga Alonso Conservatory, where he started his guitar studies.

Shortly after completing his higher education, he represented Cuba at the International Festival of Plucked-String Instruments in Logroño, Spain, as a member of the duo “Laudes Cubanos”, launching an international career dedicated to performing and promoting these instruments.

With the “Alter Ego Trío”, he has recorded and produced five albums: “Sones y Flores”, “Buscando Rutas”, “Conversiones”, “Vuelta Atrás”, and the most recent, “Son sin Ego”. These projects have garnered recognition at international competitions and received excellent reviews from critics, reflecting a constant exploration of sonic possibilities. As a concert artist, he has performed at national and international guitar and plucked-string instrument festivals in Spain, France, Portugal, Switzerland, Chile, Argentina, and Cuba, sharing the stage with other performers and contributing to the promotion and revitalization of the repertoire for these instruments.

He is a member of the Roberto Grandío National Plucked-String Orchestra, conducted by Pedro Chamorro, and continues his artistic work leading the Alter Ego Trio. He balances his concert career with teaching classical guitar at Mirabal International School and directing the school choir at Colegio Príncipe Don Felipe, thereby linking his work as a performer with his vocation for teaching.

Adrián Baratech
A guitarist, teacher, and concert artist born in Madrid, he attended the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid (as a student of Miguel Trápaga) and the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Switzerland (under the guidance of Lorenzo Micheli).

In recent years, he has focused on the field of Romantic guitar music—particularly from the first half of the 19th century—with the aim of reviving works that remain little known today.

His research led to the recording of his debut solo album, *Romanticismo Meridional* (nominated for the MIN Awards). He recorded the album using a Romantic-style guitar built specifically for him by José Ramírez, a maker with whom he has collaborated closely for years.

In 2026, he will launch the Dúo Santiago&Baratech alongside Cuban musician Diego Santiago.

He currently teaches at the Katarina Gurska Higher Center (Madrid), where he is a professor of Guitar and Chamber Music.
